- 888 Casino New Jersey is going to add new games to its live casino after signing a deal with NetEnt.
- Fort Lauderdale woman wins $3,854,682 IGT Megabucks at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood.
The biggest news if the casino industry last week was the return of Borgata Atlantic City, which was the last New Jersey casino to reopen after the COVID-19 hiatus. Speaking of casinos in Atlantic City, they all continue doing business with anti-coronavirus measures still on. In fact, social distancing and face masks are mandatory in casinos in most parts of the United States.
That’s one of the reasons why the only casino industry keeps growing. Last week, there were some reports released suggesting that we’re living in the golden age of internet casinos, which is a subject we touched upon in the last week’s recap.
Borgata Atlantic City is Back in the Game
There are nine casinos in Atlantic City, but until a few days ago, only eight of them were working. Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, which is the biggest casino in Atlantic City, had decided to delay the reopening upon learning about the New Jersey Governor’s decision to ban dining, drinking, and smoking inside casino venues.
The other eight Atlantic City casinos decided to comply with the Governor’s decision, reopening their doors to the public on the 4th of July weekend. Borgata management, however, figured out that the bans would have a severe impact on the casino’s revenue. That was the reason why they postponed the reopening for nearly a month.
However, since Thursday, July 23, Borgata Atlantic City is back in business. The casino hosted a reopening party for invited guests on Thursday, while it’s planning to reopen its doors to the public on Sunday, July 26.
All the aforementioned restrictions remain, as well as the one concerning the number of visitors allowed inside the casino. Borgata Casino will have to operate at a reduced capacity, the same as all the other casinos in Atlantic City.
Florida Woman Wins Almost $14 Million on Megabucks
In Florida, where some retail casinos had to close down again due to coronavirus worries, one lady made her dreams come true. A few days ago, a Fort Lauderdale woman paid a visit to the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Hollywood, Florida, not having a clue that this visit would change her life.
What happened was that she hit the jackpot on Megabucks, thus winning nearly $4 million. Actually, the exact amount she won is $3,854,682.
Sure, that’s a lot of money, but it’s nowhere near the biggest jackpot ever won at Megabucks. A software engineer from Los Angeles still holds that record, having won $39.7 million on this slot machine back in 2003. Also, back in 2015, there was the story of Cynthia Jay Brennan who won 35 million dollars from Megabucks only to be hit with a horrible tragedy.
Many other slot players have won millions on the Megabucks fruit machine, which is considered one of the loosest types of slots in America. You can think of Mega Joker slot as its online counterpart, as this game has an RTP of 99%.
888 Casino to Offer NetEnt Slots
With COVID-19 still posing a serious threat in the United States, gambling fans keep choosing online casinos over their land-based counterparts. Of course, this is only possible in those states where internet gaming is possible, one of which is New Jersey.
There are 22 online casinos in New Jersey, each with a pretty decent game selection. The game selection of one of those casinos is about to get much better. 888 Casino New Jersey is the casino in question, as its parent company has recently struck a deal with NetEnt, one of the most reputable online slot game developers.
NetEnt already supplies 888 Casino with online slots such as the ever-popular Gonzo’s Quest or Mega Fortune. However, the deal signed earlier this week is going to bring new live games to this casino’s live-dealer section.
According to the deal, NetEnt will supply new variants of live roulette and live blackjack, which should come with more camera angles, dealer chat, and many other features.
